Stefano Lubiana Primavera Chardonnay 2011
Chardonnay is the most exciting grape variety at the moment
in Australia! Every time I taste a group of wines I say yes the quality is
great and the region is one of the best at producing high quality Chardonnay so
it comes as no surprise that Stefano Lubiana has produced a beauty of an entry
level wine that is a little rounder and more forgiving than its big brother at
this early stage. There are notes of salted nuts and nectarines with some more
robust flavours of tinned summer fruits coming through. There is minimal oak
intervention so the true fruit flavours can shine through as of today. This is
the sort of wine that I would buy to open at any stage while I wait for the chiseled
Chardonnays to evolve in the bottle.
