In the past people have gone down the same
path but today’s winemakers are pushing for texture and different flavours that
have a little more restraint than the wines from a decade ago.
Patritti Jimmy's Hat 2010
So much texture and richness yet the wine
ends with bright acidity and freshness. It is easy to see how they can do it as the
wine is a blend of Savagnin, Arneis and Pinot Grigio from the cool Adelaide
Hills region. With each component the wine fills itself out across the palate but it
is the core of the wine that is impressive. I would grab a dozen of these and
spank them out over summer whenever someone comes around.
