Preston Peak Wines Sagrantino 2013

I've never heard of Preston Peak and a quick good search says that they are a family boutique winery. This wine has a lot going for it in term of wine-making with wild ferment, old oak and cold soaking the bunches before ferment begins. I'm not sure how old the vineyard is but I think that it is young.

First of the wine is a bit shy but the plums come through after a while. The tannin structure is a bit loose and the palate is a bit dilute which could be a result of the wine being a 2013. Sagrantino need to spend a period in barrel and a stint in bottle before being released and I would say the 2010 should be getting released now not 2013s.
