Rockford Basket Press Shiraz 2010

Rockfords Basket Press is one of the top wines that the serious Shiraz wine lovers collect that wish to cellar them for ten or so years. This years version is so restrained and withdraw I almost wrote it off on day three.

In the beginning there was arms, legs and a head but nothing that held the wine's message together. The bold flavours of menthol, cherry balm, cinnamon,  chocolate and satuma plums are at odds with the silky palate at the moment as on the first day they didn't connect but on day four the medium to full bodied wine was seamless. Long and wound with moments of delightful vibrancy. This will move you once it turns 15 so stash it away.
