Pizzini Sangiovese Shiraz 2010

What style of food do you eat at home? Dinosaur ribs? or is it more medium body foods like pasta? Well the surveys suggest that the two most popular home cooked meals are Italian and Thai which means that masses of meat might not be the focus of the meal. What would be needed is a lovely light to medium bodied wine that could handle a variety of flavours.  Pizzini has worked that magic with this wine.

Pizzini Sangiovese Shiraz 2010

The wine is light but it is so fragrant with flavours of sour red fruits and mountains of spice. There is also a rambunctiousness to the fruits that makes me want to go back for more.  This is the sort of wine I would crack on Wednesday night after a hard day at work with a heart bowl of ragu pasta. When I tasted this two words kept on popping into my head...in and enjoy and I think they embody what this wine is about.
