d'Arenberg Coppermine Road Cabernet Sauvignon 2009

The Coppermine Road Cabernet is one of the iconic wines from d'Arenberg along with the Dead Arm and Ironstone Pressings. All are beautiful wines but the Ironstone takes the gold for quality and style but this is not far behind.

d'Arenberg Coppermine Road Cabernet Sauvignon 2009

The wine is elegant and slightly rustic at the same time with flavours of blackcurrants, blood plums and raspberries leading the way. The punguent palate is full on but it has enough acidity and malty tannins to hold it together. Chester has managed to avoid those dried out characters that is associated with the weather condition of 2009 but he has been able to express true regional elegance with full on Cabernet characters. The wines core is bright, allowing the great length of flavours to take you on a journey. Mmm all it needs is a steak and mushroom sauce.
