Primo Estate Angel Gully Shiraz 2010

Primo Estate walk to the beat of their own drum. Take their portfolio for instance. Their top selling wine is a white wine that contains Colombard which is little known French variety. They are also the first to make an Amarone style wine in Australia. It is no wonder that Joe Grilli turned is hand to Shiraz from the Clarendon area as it offers something so different.

Another brilliant wine with floral notes but the fruit is in the blue end if the spectrum.  The wine sings a beautiful song and one that anyone would be proud of. The with a structure that is to die for as the acidity proved a backbone for the tannins and flavour to show themselves.  On a personal note, I haven't bought much McLaren Vale or any Barossa Shiraz for a wine but I will be loading up in 2010. Why? The structure and beautiful flavours that don't head over to the over ripe end of the spectrum are so enticing that I can't help myself.  This vintage is for the collectors!
