Paracombe Chardonnay 2009

The Paracombe winery is situated in the heart of Paracombe in the Adelaide Hills. It is a rather cool area but when you compare it to Lenswood and Piccadilly Valley it is a bit warmer which makes it perfect for cool climate Chardonnay and Shiraz.  The winery is owned and run by the Kathy and Paul so everything is done in a hands on manner.  All the wines don't brake the bank so it could be an easy introduction to quality Adelaide Hills wines.

The wine opens with a little nuttiness, pine needles and a sweet caramel taste.  Once on your palate there is a nice acidity running through its core which leaves you feeling fresh and frisky. Well not frisky but I still felt good.  As the wine is so light and the length only reaches the middle of your palate I struggled to be totally mad about the wine but it was a nice drink to quaff down.
