Chapel Hill The Chosen Road Block Shiraz 2008

The 2008 vintage in extremely hot where the temperature exceeded 38 degrees for 14 days in a row. Is that conducive for producing age-worthy wines? No but that do show nice fruit flavours in their youth.

Chapel Hill The Chosen Road Block Shiraz 2008

There are plenty of dark fruit covered in melted licorice flowing from this wine in a seductive and inviting manner.  For a 4 year old wine this seems to be rather open and accessible but I think that could be a product of the vintage.  There is a lashing of broiled leather bubbling out of the glass which suggests to me that this is ready to go.  The cuddliness and inherent slurp-ability of the wine puts me in the mood for lamb chops so I better head down the butcher to get some.
