Mayhem & Co. Pinot Noir 2010

Even though this is a bit cheaper than the other wines that i have reviewed from Brendon Keys, it still gets the rolls royce of treatment.  It is fermented on skins for 100 days and  receives 10% new french oak which works wonders for the fruit to full express itself. It seems that his theoretical understanding of making wine is hands on and not risk adverse.  He gets out in the vineyard to see whats going on.

Mayhem & Co. Pinot Noir 2010

If this is anything to go by watch out for his 2010 wines as the flavours build over time into a beguiling beauty.  The palate starts out on the lighter side of medium body but quickly takes it up a notch.  From an Adelaide Hills point of view you get more earthiness, bitter herbs and spicy cinnamon than your normal fruitiness, even though you do get strawberries and cranberries. There is enough structure to add interest and while there is a bit of alcohol heat coming into play, it doesn't distract you from the fun.
