Ngeringa JE Chardonnay 2006

Ngeringa is one of my favourite Adelaide Hills produces, especially considering that their wines speak of the area.  This has had great reviews but tonight it didn’t quiet live up to it.  That could have been because it came after a sublime French Burgundy. For the money its still a bargain just I was expecting more.

There was a little roasted nuts, lemon curd, honey, fragrant tropical soap (the one you would find at a high end soap store) with a petrol pump station action on the back end.  The wine enfolded over a long period which suggests that it will need a decade to unfurl.
