Mitchell GSM 2006

The Mitchell winery is located in the Sevenhill area of the Clare Valley, a very historic district, who produce brilliant Riesling and are now branching out into distinctive blends.   It is my view that the Australian wine drinking population would love to get into some of these unique regional blends if more people produced them, especially if they provide a savoury edge.  Just like this one.

Mitchell Grenache Sangiovese Mouvedre 2006

Hold on tight as the alcohol on this little baby makes an impact.  The flavours are good, but a little burnt, and the mouth feel is good, while the alcohol leave me feeling a little heavy or drunk, I’m not sure which one. Its not a bad wine just would have been better at 14 – 14.5%.

Alcohol: 15%
Price: $21
Rated: 84
Drink: 2011 - 2015
