Laurance of Margarat River Shiraz 2009
This wine is like ying and yang. The tannins are light yet add a lovely texture and food friendly dryness to the wine but I had to ask where is the flavour? It was as if the wine had gone to sleep but never awoken. How do I score it? It get points for colour, not much for smell (there was a little spicy cinnamon and cedar) yet the tannins give it something extra. So 84 is for a wine that never got out of bed.
