Torbreck Runrig 2007

My mate used to collect Runrig but has stopped in recent years.  Not sure why as this is a beautiful wine from a difficult year. He still collects Shiraz Viognier blends but he has turned to Clonakilla.

Torbreck Runrig 2007

The first thing you notice about the wine is that there is no alcohol heat coming through, just pristine black fruits with a floral overtone.   The tannins are flawlessly integrated into the framework of the wine, with that Torbreck silkiness coming into play from the moment the wine touches your lips.  The wine finishes with a lovely spicy dark chocolate component and a hedonistic rush of glory.
